The Chesapeake and Ohio was the last railroad to arrive in Muncie, routing through the city in the 1900s. The Cardinal Greenway depot is the last visage of the railroad locally. The Chessie system was the rebranded Chesapeake & Ohio railroad, renamed to incorporate further mergers of other properties in the 1960s and 1970s.
