Rustic Cabin Restaurant

Rustic Cabin Restaurant

The Rustic Cabin was a cafeteria style eatery serving country style food, which opened in 1954. It was located off State Road 3, near Royerton High, and offered food like country fried chicken and ham steaks. The cafeteria was “smorgasbord” style on the weekends, and was a frequent meeting place, hosting many anniversary parties, sororities, and groups like the American Business Women’s Association.

Rustic Cabin was listed for sale after struggling to keep up with chains like Old Country Buffet and Sirloin Stockade. It was purchased by the Royerton AmVets in 1996, who did $15,000 of renovations, and reside there to this day. At the time of its closure, it was one of Delaware County’s oldest restaurants.
