CCC&I Railroad

CCC&I Railroad

The Cleveland, Cincinnati, Chicago and Indianapolis Railway (CCC&I) was a notable railroad in the American Midwest, providing essential transport services through regions including Muncie, Indiana. Founded in the 19th century, it played a key role in the economic development of the areas it served. However, as the transportation industry evolved with the rise of automobiles and air travel, the CCC&I, like many railroads of its time, faced challenges. It was eventually incorporated into the New York Central System in 1922, marking the end of its operations as an independent entity in the shifting landscape of American transportation.
